When we first moved into this house, there was a GIANT oak tree in this area that we had removed because parts of it looked like it was dying, and it posed a threat to the house if it were to ever fall. There’s another oak tree further back, and so this area got dubbed the Oak Garden.

It is currently a hot mess. My plan was to stay on top of spraying/killing all of the viney weeds in the area as they emerged. But well, that didn’t happen. In the sea of wild grape vines growing, you can’t see all the poison oak that is growing. There are also wild passion fruit vines. I would like to keep and train some of the passion fruit vines for the gulf fritillary butterflies. Here is what I am purposely growing in the Oak Garden.
