Product Description

Gaillardia Pulchella Sundance Red

This is annual gaillardia that will come back next year from self-sowing itself.  I grew this for the first time in 2021, and it is now one of my favorites!  Deadheading will prolong flowering.  Soggy soil will cause root rot, so plant in a well-draining area in full sun.  Plants can grow 12-24″ tall and 9-15″ wide.

Moderate deer resistance.  Tolerates less fertile soil well.  Drought tolerant, heat tolerant, and frost tolerant.  Packet is 25 seeds and currently free because they may be nearing the end of their prime.

Start indoors 6-8 weeks before your last average frost.

Press lightly into sterile soil but do not cover too much as light aids in seed germination. Kept at 60-65° F, germination is in 14-21 days. Transplant into the garden 12″ apart.
