Coleus – Premium Sun Pineapple Surprise
multicolored leaves in shades of chartreuse, burgundy, and green
Out of stock
These can be planted in full sun in areas with relatively high humidity and part sun/shade in areas further north with lower humidity. Large leaves in chartreuse, burgundy, and green shades. Grows to a height of 18-26.” Pelleted seeds for easier sowing.
Start seeds 6-8 weeks before your last average frost using a sterilized, soilless mix. Lightly press into soil but do not cover as light is needed for germination. Kept at 70-75° F, germination is in 7-14 days.
Transplant dwarf coleus into the garden 9-12″ apart and taller varieties 12-18″ apart. Plants do produce flowers in late summer. You can pinch these flower heads off or leave them to flower as bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies love to feed on them. Keep soil consistently moist but not overly wet. I have found that I have to water my coleus plants in containers daily during our hot summers or the leaves droop.
