Snapdragon – Twinny Mix
mix of all colors in the dwarf Twinny series
Compact, double butterfly flowers on dwarf plants reaching just 12″ tall. 10″ wide. A mix of all colors in the “Twinny” series. AAS Winner.
Snapdragons prefer cooler weather and will typically stop blooming when temperatures get too high. Start 8-10 weeks before your last average frost. Barely cover as light is required for germination. Kept at 60-70° F, germination is in 10-14 days. Harden off and transplant into the garden after all danger of frost has passed. Space 6-8″ apart for dwarf varieties and 10-12″ apart for tall varieties.
For bushier plants that produce more flowers, pinch plants back by half their height when plants have formed 4-6 leaves or are approximately 4-5 inches tall (for tall varieties), 3-4″ tall for dwarf varieties.
Plants like rich, moist, well-drained soils. Avoid overhead watering. When cut back after flowering, snapdragons will quickly bloom again. Bloom cycle is complete when temperatures stay consistently above 80°F.
