Product Description
Catharanthus roseus
Upright, mounding plants are covered in pale pink flowers with slightly darker pink centers, reaching 10-14″ tall. Plants are well-branching and very low maintenance. No deadheading required. They are also fairly heay and drought tolerant once established.
Packet is 25 seeds.
Germination
Start seeds indoors 12 weeks before your last average frost. Make sure to cover seeds with about 1/8″ of soil as light will inhibit germination, and keep out of direct sunlight. Seeds are sensitive to over-watering, so keep lightly moist and not wet. Kept at 65-75° F, germination is in 14-21 days. Once seedlings emerge, you will need to provide them with 16 hours of light per day.
Growing
Transplant into the garden 6″ apart after all danger of frost has passed. Vinca prefers full sun but will benefit from some afternoon shade in very hot climates (deep south and southwest desert). Vinca is a very low-maintenance flower that does not require regular fertilizer or deadheading of spent flowers. Once established, they are fairly heat and drought tolerant.
