Wishbone – Kauai Deep Blue
dark blue flowers with white throats
Out of stock
Small, dark blue flowers with white throats sit atop compact, well-branching plants reaching 8″ tall. They are heat and humidity tolerant. These look fantastic as a border plant or in pots or window boxes, and they attract bees and hummingbirds. Pelleted seeds for easier sowing.
Packet is 20 seeds.
Start seeds 10-12 weeks before your last average frost in a sterile, soilless mix. Press into soil but do not cover as light is required for germination. Kept at 70-75° F, germination is in 7-17 days.
Transplant into the garden 6″ apart after all danger of frost has passed. Keep the plants well watered in very hot weather and/or windy weather, but be careful not to water so much they sit in water. You can fertilize once every 2 weeks with a water-soluble fertilizer. Wishbone flowers are pretty low-maintenance. Deadheading is not necessary, but I usually cut all the spent flowers off at least once during the growing season, when the flowering has slowed down drastically.
