Product Description
Bellis perennis
Early-blooming plants with rose and white tones, these will bloom in the first year if started earlier enough. Abundance of large, fully double flowers on short 6-10″ tall plants. Short-lived perennial in zones 4-7, but treated as a cool-weather annual in zones 8-10. Frost tolerant. Pelleted seeds for easier sowing.
Packet is 25 seeds.
Germination
Start seeds 8-10 weeks before your last average frost. Lightly press into soil but do not cover as light will aid germination. Kept at 70° F, germination is in 7-21 days.
Growing
Plant into the garden 4-6″ apart. English Daisies are short-lived perennials. They prefer cooler weather, so they are usually treated as annuals in zones 8-10. They require about 4-6 hours a day of full sun in cooler areas and will benefit from light shade in the afternoon in hot climates. They do not like their soil to dry out, so water regularly, and fertilize once a month with an all-purpose fertilizer. Deadheading is not necessary with English Daisies. When they stop blooming, it is usually due to high temperatures and not seed production.
