Product Description
Tanacetum coccineum
2-3″ daisy-like flowers in shades of pink, red, and rose. Plants are a bushy 24-36″ tall. This plant doesn’t like super hot or humid climates, so provide part shade if you are in a hot climate. Plants will bloom again in early fall if you cut them back after the first flowering. Perennial in zones 3-7.
Packet is 25 seeds.
Germination
Start seeds 4-6 weeks before your last average frost. Press into soil but do not cover as light aids germination. Kept at 60-70° F, germination is in 7-21 days.
Growing
Transplant into the garden 18-24″ apart in full sun in the north and part shade for more southern states. Keep in mind this plant does not do well in humidity and very hot climates. It will flower the 2nd growing season from seed. Keep evenly moist when establishing. When the plant has finished flowering, cut it back to promote a second flowering in the fall. Pinch plants in spring when they are 6-8″ tall to promote bushiness.
