Hydrangea – Big Leaf

Plant Height: 3-6 feet
Spread: 4-5 feet

This hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla) has bloom colors that range from white, pink, purple and blue depending on soil acidity.  It will bloom blue in more acidic soil and pink in more alkaline soil.  One year, with my previous one, I had a slight mix of both colors on the same plant.  This is a fast growing hydrangea, as you can see by the yearly pictures I’ve included.  Blooms on old wood.
