Perennial / Full sun but benefits from some shade during the day
These have recently been topped (pinched back) to promote a bushier, fuller plant as they grow. Price will increase in a couple weeks as the plant begins to fill in and get bigger.
Plant Height: 20-27 inches
Spread: 18 inches
Deep, dark foliage with 2.5 – 3″ red blooms that range from semi-double to double. These dahlia starters were started from seed from my reliable, commercial seed source, so they will be true to the pictures. Dahlias started from seed produce a clump of tubers in their first year. You can lift them in the fall and store them to replant in spring, or, in my case, I just leave them in the ground now. In our area, I’ve had dahlias come back in the ground (so long as they don’t stand in water over the winter).
